Obama upset both parties w/ his recent statements on education.

Personally, I agree w/ merit pay for teachers (and so does he). Why in every other job in our country can people get raises based on performance- but teachers do not! The arguement is generally that it is not fair to judge a teacher based on how well their students do as not all classes are equal. This is a false argument. There are other ways to judge performance as we know the behaviors that contribute to student achievement. Teachers who exibit these measurable behaviors should be rewarded accordingly...
