Soylent Green. Logan's Run.
We can solve the over population problem and world hunger at the same time. People over 80 should be very worried!

Now that I have that out of my system.
Solar Panels- yes.. Turbines- yes...
Everything that homeowners can do to be more energy efficient and green is great.
But.... the government also needs to drill, we need to do more w/ Nuclear.
It is not an EITHER/OR, but a AND/BOTH approach that we need.

Oh Brother, I just saw Obama touting this 10 year plan. I actually agree 100% with the idea. What bothers me is that this was Huckabees mantra back in Dec/Jan at every debate. Obama hasn't said a thing about it until now. Now he is using Huck's exact words and analogy- going to moon, ect..
Hey, if he's elected and he does it- Great! But I just can't trust the man....he is a charlatan who steals other people's passions and turns them into his own rhetoric...

I don't know enough to say whether there is a short term fix. But certainly an effort to be Energy Independant in 10 years that mirrors an all out moon program would solve the problem long term.
Listen. If Reagan, Bush I, or Clinton had done ANYTHING about this back then, we wouldn't be dealing with it now. Reagan had bigger fish to fry with what Carter left him, the Soviet Union, Air Traffic Controllers, Cold War stuff. But what did Bush I or Clinton do about it??
Especially Clinton. We had 8 years of peace and do-nothing years...why didn't he tackle this then??

Will an all out effort like the moon program get us out of this energy mess? Are solar panels and wind turbines real solutions or just politically correct talking points? Is hydrogen the answer?
