Yes, I think it did.

Sorry you got it all wrong, especially about not remembering Dan Quale. Wasn't he a last minute pop-up candidate, who seemed to be everything the party wanted for their vice-presidential candidate that year? He looked good and safe enough to be on the ticket along with Bush 1. With the right press coverage we'd all look good. W looked good too, Especially, with God and Karl Rove on his side. It is all hype, fed to us by masters of press control. They fault the media when it is to their advantage but they use it as well to manipulate the voters. It's called bringing in the sheep. Baa Humbug!!!

Phyllis must be to young to remember Dan Quayle. He claimed to have as much experience as JFK. Now Obama claims to be more experienced than Sara Palin? This country is in deep trouble. We need real leadership to pull us together as one united states....not blue or red states....We need real leadership to fix our energy problem....not candidates that have nice slogans or speak in front of fake props of greek columns. To attack Sara is an attack on all women....Hillary is not a woman, she is a victim.

Ronnie, You go on the assumption that my party is different than yours, whatever yours may be. I merely stated that she makes McCain look older and that she doesn't have a great deal of experience. Think of me as you will, I am just making an observation. It is a very exciting time in our country when we can put aside the ideas of gender and race in a presidential campaigne, Now if we can just put aside our party prejudices and finally place the right person in the white house. Some one who will be a leader and not someone who follows the leader. It may not happen this time, but if we continue on as we are now there may not be a country to govern. All is not right in this country and a lot of people just don't care anymore. Alaska is an environmentally important state, sparcely populated, but important. We need someone who cares about the environment so we don't further mess things up. That might be a good thing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Palin has tons of experience, but if that is your concern you should look at who your party put up there at #1...

Wow....alcoholic indians...geez Phyllis...

Again, if her experience as a VP choice isn't good enough, how does Obama's experience make him President worthy... A Senator doesn't govern anything nor do they have to deal with any decision (vote) they make...and he can't even get that right, missing votes...not voting...

A Governor and Mayor are actually accountable to their decisions and must manage them. In her first year alone she vetoed 300 spending proposals..she's done more in one year as governor than Obama has in all of his years as a state or U.S. Senator combined...

Alaska is the largest and most diverse land mass in our country and has the most natural resources in our country. She Governed it all. In this day when energy and environment are top priorities it seems that Alaska is pretty important.

Sorry, it seems to me that visually, she makes him look all that much older and thereby she looks even younger and appears that much less experienced. Plus, he looks more bumbling and confused. Appearences do count in our society, maybe too much. What is her experience anyway? Alaska?? Come on, get real, it is hardly populated up there. Governing a few alchoholic indians and passing out pipeline revenues, hardly makes anyone ready to be a world leader. Sorry, as of today, I feel he has insured his defeat.

Ronnie you are a wise man. Let's hope McCain can convey to the voters what you conveyed in your post.

No and Yes

No- Obama's lack of experience is a factor because HE is president not the vice president. He would be in charge yet has no experience being in charge.

Yes- McCains age and health have been a concern...if something were to happen to him, his VP's experience could be a concern.

BUT... Palin's experience as a Mayor and now Governor and what she has done in the 2 years as Governor (taking on higher ups, party officials, advocating for her state) far outweighs Obama's experience which consists of speaking to people and voting- either in the Illinois State Senate or now in the U.S. Senate where he has an abysmal voting record- missing votes or voting "Present"

John McCain has chosen Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, to be his running mate. Palin is a high energy reformer type but has less experience in government than Obama. Has McCain destroyed his own best argument - Obama's lack of experience - my making this choice?
