Now that Bush is gone and Obama is headed towards the center, I think the party should just disband.
Do we need a bunch of tight assed, white, rich people running around with the slogan of smaller government and less taxes?
Hasn't Obama regime taught you that we need higher taxes on the wealthy to pay for all the social problems we have because of the Bush years.
We need better schools and better health care.
Therefore we need to penalize and tax the small business owners, the entrepreneurial spirit that creates most of the jobs in this country because it is patriotic!
Sometimes I feel like the world has gone insane?

They need to find an answer to the immigration issue. A lot of immigrants are with the republicans on a lot of issues, but they are shooting themselves in the foot regarding immigration. Remember, if McCain had got the same % of hispanics that Bush did in 2000 and 2004, he would have won.

Re-tool and Re-Boot....First the aprty has to represent it's core values...smaller government...less taxes, less spending, less regulations. For all the right reasons, including 9/11 the party values were compromised leaving a party without a cause. McCain ran a great campaign, but could not overcome the Bush backlash. It's up to Republicans to go back to basics...and become the fiscally responsible party again.
We must work to control expenses, cut waste, and reduce the size of government. A smaller less intrusive agenda and bring all people to the tent. The party has drifted away from core values and must re-establish itself as the "grown-ups" that run an efficient small government, not the party that says one thing and does the other.
The party cannot afford to compromise itself by providing political appointments as favors and select the best and brightest people to government jobs. A justice department filled with Liberty University grads, a FEMA department headed by unqualified personnel, supreme court nominees that are qualified, and a DOD professionals that can manage a war and manage the $$ billions of dollars wasted in Iraq has damaged the party for the next few election cycles.
Now is the time to rally around state governors that "manage". To find legislatures that do not compromise. To embrace and attract all people to the tent, not just the "traditional" core, but to energize around the brightest people.

I agree with you Ronnie. Here this election map shows that the vast majority of this countries counties voted for McCain. If you were to look at this map and not the election results one would have to conclude that the GOP won by a landslide. Of course this was not the case.
So Obama won the Popular and the Electoral vote, but the %age of landmass area of this country is still Conservative....
There's a lot of group-think going on in the cities, where the media is followed much more closely than in rural areas and in middle America where people value hard work over handouts and traditional values over progressive ones the vast majority of the time...

Prior to this election the country was categorized as a "Center-Right" country. The votes weren't even tallied before the press was calling us a "Center-Left" country.
Is that true? I don't think that just because Obama won it means this is the case.
What are your thoughts?
