Do you live a balanced life?

Our lives are filled with many competing priorities. With so many forces vying for our time, we often just gravitate to the things we are good at or to the most urgent tasks before us. Over time our lives become out of balance and our focus becomes narrow. Do any of these questions describe you?

Are you stressed out? Overwhelmed? Do you have relationship problems?
Do you have too much to do and not enough time to do it? Do you have health problems?
Are you always busy, yet don’t seem to get much done? Do you have financial problems?
Are you working too hard to get ahead at work? Do you feel as if your life is out of balance?

Chances are at least one of the questions above applies to your life. We all tend to focus our time and attention on a few certain things, all the while neglecting the other areas of our lives. Join ThePrysm.com now and begin to bring your whole life into balance.

The Five Categories of Life Balance

Everything in our lives can fit into the categories of financial, intellectual, spiritual, health, and relationships. These five categories form the foundation by which we can have a balanced life. The problem is that most people don’t see their lives this way. Some put all of their focus on their finances as they watch their relationships suffer. Others refuse expand their intellect which in turn affects their earning power. It quickly becomes obvious that we need to maintain a certain level of proficiency in each of these categories and that no one category should be the sole focus of our lives. Sadly though, most people simply just center their lives on one or two of these categories, either the ones they are best at or the ones requiring the most attention, while neglecting the categories they are least interested in. This obviously creates an imbalance between these five foundational categories resulting in an imbalance in our lives.

Why a prism?

A prism is a transparent object which separates light into its individual parts. As light enters the prism its speed and angle changes causing the single beam of light to separate into its different parts. Only through this process are we able to see all of the characteristics of what appears to us as a white beam of light.

ThePrysm.com is a tool to examine people’s lives. Instead of separating light into its parts, ThePrysm.com dissects a person’s life into the different categories that make it up. You will begin to see that everything in your life fits into one of the five categories. By looking at life in this way, you can more easily focus on the different aspects of your life to improve your overall life balance.

How to Categorize the Activities of Your Life

In most cases it is clear what type of activity or life behavior fits into each category. To be sure, there is certainly overlap between some of the aspects of each of these. The more practice that you get with viewing your life in light of these five categories and how each category affects your overall balance the easier it will be for you to categorize each activity in your life. To help you on this journey we have developed explanations for each of the five categories which are found in in the Further Reading Module to the right. Simply click on the category that you want to read about to understand how it affects your life balance, what types of activities are included in it, and what you can do to improve your proficiency in that category.
